Diwali Halwa


Ayurveda recommends special health care preparations for Diwali. These are sweeter and good for preventing all kinds of digestive and other health care problems which may arise during Diwali.

Diwali Halwa



a.       White pumpkin – 3 kg ( pulverize it and extract the juice) – Keep the Extracted solid separately

b.      Fry the extracted solid in 192 gm of ghee until this become a golden color paste

c.       Pumpkin juice is then prepared as a sugar syrup by mixing it with adequate quantity of sugar (approximately 100 gm)

d.      Add the following powders one by one. Stir constantly.

a.       Cardamom powder – 12 gm

b.      Clove powder – 12 gm

c.       Black pepper powder – 12 gm

d.      Dry ginger powder – 12 gm

e.      Cardamom leaf powder – 12 gm

f.        Long pepper powder – 12 gm

It improves digestion and metabolism. We tend to take more sweets in Diwali season which ends up with indigestion and other kinds of respiratory infection etc.

This Lehya or Halwa helps preventing it and also improves the digestion and metabolism in no time.

Indication: All age groups, Cough, cold, debilitation, distaste, piles and as tonic and rejuvenative diet to all

Contra indication: Diabetes, Hypertension
